Our story
Repairs You Understand, From People You Trust
Bothwell Automotive has built its reputation in Torrance on one idea: explain everything, then let the customer decide. Reviewers describe a team that walks through each repair in plain language before any work begins, so nothing gets fixed that doesn't need it.
That approach keeps people coming back for years, and it's brought customers from as far as Phoenix and Lake Havasu, who'd rather tow a car 400 miles than trust it to anyone else.
We aim to keep it that way: honest diagnostics, fair prices, and the small courtesies, like topping off your washer fluid, that most shops skip.
- Explains every repair before you approve it
- Customers return for over a decade
- Free fluid top-offs, no upsell pressure
- Trusted enough that customers tow cars 400 miles to get here
What customers say
“I will never take my automobile anywhere else. Bothwell Automotive at 20730 Earl Street in Torrance is one of the most honest automotive centers I've ever been to. Their team is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely concerned about your situation. They explain everything clearly without ever pushing unnecessary repairs. Their integrity and customer-first approach make them stand out in the best way possible. I wouldn't trust my car with anyone else.”
“In my 37 years of life I had never met a courteous, knowledgable, honest, reliable, and affordable mechanic shop. Look no more; Bothwell Automotive in Torrance has it all! I am beyond grateful for the support I received from the Bothwell team. They have great teamwork and the process was smooth to get my car running like new. They are experts at what they do.”
“We drive 400 miles just to take our vehicles to Bothwell. We spend our time in Phoenix, Lake Havasu, and Torrance. I don't care if I have to have our vehicle towed 400 miles. We only trust Bothwell. They are also better priced than any other place. Tell me how many shops will top off your windshield fluid as a courtesy.”
